Seeing in 2011

It would be amiss of me to not look back and reflect on the year we have just had, yet something tells me that whilst reflection is good, looking forward is even better.
2011 holds so much promise. Better health, more family time and success whether it is personally or professionally – if only, I could keep to my new years resolutions.
I have gotten off to a good start by heading to the beach every day, eating relatively healthy and today, opening up my laptop and putting together 2 plans. One, a life plan for 2011 and two, a business plan for 2011.
I always feel challenged by life plans as they are too hard to stick to and even harder to write down. Who really knows what is in store for them and as fate might have it, you never know what or who may whisk you away. Wishful thinking perhaps…but nevertheless, it is true.
New Year’s Eve is to me the most over-rated day of the year. It never lives up to my expectations, so this year, I didn’t have any.
Instead, I shared beautiful fresh seafood and french champagne with my close friends at a intimate party at Darling Point in Sydney overlooking the Harbour Bridge and with full view of the spectacular fireworks.
Better still, I was able to watch the fireworks with my beloved dog, Pip. Pathetic some may say, but to see in the new year with someone/something that you love sets the foundation for the year ahead. For too many years, I have been skiing at this time of year and have seen in the new year with a bunch of strangers. Being with friends and Pip is far more meaningful in so many ways.
How have you seen in the new year? Have you got yourself off to a good start? If you haven’t, are you doing things to rectify that? Have a cleanout and get ready for the first days of the best year of your life… where you can be anyone, do anything and reach whatever potential you would like to reach.
Happy New Year!
