Are You Sick of Marketing?
More to the point, are you sick of doing your own marketing and not focusing on your business? In every business development meeting I have, I always ask “who’s doing your marketing now?” Often I hear that the founder is performing all if not most of the current marketing activities. Nine times out of ten they are trying to: run the business/grow the business, manage staff, manage payroll, come up with new product ideas, and more, all while doing what they can with marketing. It’s too much for a growing business.
Yes, in the early stages we all live and breath our blossoming business. A new business is like an infant, it needs constant attention and to occupy most of your waking thoughts. Typically a new business is the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing you think about at night before you go to sleep. That’s why you started, you were passionate and knew your idea would succeed or at least be useful in some way. You have always done the marketing because you are the most enthusiastic, devoted, and simply you above everyone else know your business the best. However, if you are to the point where other tasks are occupying your time and you can’t focus on your business it may be time for a change.
Outsourcing
I’m not saying, “go hire a bunch of people in another country to work for you,” but maybe it’s time to leave a few tasks up to the professionals. Obviously, I’m thinking about marketing but there are so many other aspects of your business that you can or maybe even should consider outsourcing. I don’t know your business, and I don’t know your pain points but I am 100% certain you do. Think about what would make your life easier and see if there’s a way to pass the torch onto someone that not only can solve it, but loves it. That way you can focus your valuable time and energy on what makes you happy, your business.
BTW we love marketing.
