Atlanta Marketers, have you heard of all of these new marketing tools?
The world keeps changing. I use to hate change but as a marketer I have learned to love it. Move my seat one day to another, I am all ready to get up and look at the new perspective that is put in front of me.
I use to love a PC but my team wanted Mac's because they were sexier, so I reluctantly changed last. Now, I have no idea how to use a PC and my Mac is joined at my hip.

Marketing is changing. All of these tech heads are coming up with new technologies that are blowing me out of the water and had me up at 1am this morning trying to learn what else is out there that perhaps even I have missed.
I work on the business not in the business so my job is to know everything I possibly can about marketing and what I don't know, I need my team to be filling me in.
Life's short, there are a planes to catch and adventures to be had, so I thought I would give Atlanta marketers a quick shortlist to make sure your 2016 marketing strategy is not last year's garbage rehashed.
Twitter Native Video
Noteworthy: Twitter has 316 million active monthly users and 500 million tweets per day. Marketing Eye has 76,000 followers with 97% authentic followers, and approximately 30 tweets per day and 50 retweets or likes per day.
Twitters sales spiel:
"With video on Twitter, you can capture and share life’s meaningful moments — from your perspective. Now it’s simple to shoot clips, make cuts, and share your world in vivid, moving detail. Download the app to get started."
Why not? This video gives sellers 6 seconds autoplay previews. They are so fast, and slightly less annoying than LinkedIn or Facebook.

Instagram Ads and Sponsored Content
Noteworthy: Instagram topped 300 million users in December 2014 and really is Facebook's rising star. I was the last to get involved with Instagram - as the idea of taking selfies just was not appealing to a 40-something year old. But I got with the program and of late, even I take selfies. They must bore people to tears - but if you can't beat them, you had better join them.
Instagram's sales spiel:
"With a community of over 300M, Instagram is one of the world's largest mobile ads platforms.
We give brands the ability to reach an engaged audience, deliver messages in a focused visual experience and publish content in a creative, high-quality environment.
While ads aren't widely available just yet, we suggest getting started with a few tips and resources."
Why not? I don't think that their method of experimenting with carousel-style ad format, as welll as video that gives you an ability to link to a website or app is being controlled well enough. Some of the advertisements I am getting just have no relevance and are completely unacceptable and waste my time trying to delete them.

LinkedIn Advertisements and Sponsored Content
I completely dislike the new format of LinkedIn and am very angry that through their paid system blogs that I was writing that were receiving 70,000 plus readers, now get a few hundred. Thanks LinkedIn. I am a marketer and you have completely lost my support. I also find it hard to work out how many people are following me. I use to know it was 10K plus but whatever your new format has done, I have no idea. Hard for reporting to clients. If you are looking for me to get clients to pay you - think again. I control over 300 company marketing budgets and you have now pissed me off.
On top of that, stop offering my employees jobs and for that matter, me jobs. Seriously, get your algorithms right and stop making employers think that your website is now the biggest joke in social media.

Facebook Native Video
Noteworthy: 1.49 billion monthly users are on Facebook. Hard to ignore.
We all know how popular facebook is and rightfully so. I am even finding after all of these years, that I am looking up facebook daily as I wait in bed for a reasonable hour to hop out. The advertisements are no offensive and are often relevant. They constantly send me to interesting blogs that I would not normally have seen. Kudos to you. As for competing with YouTube, I stopped going there years ago. The fact that people can hack figures doesn't excite me as a marketer.
Facebook sales spiel: Clearly Google and Facebook don't love each other and I couldn't be bothered looking further than the first two pages. Maybe facebook should be paying Google with their small change.

This is a worthy read for all marketers - particularly those in Atlanta that are working too hard and not quite keeping up with what's going on in marketing.
