I won't lie. I walked into Spanx yesterday and was completely and utterly in awe. Wow! Seriously, Wow! The wide hallways, the high ceilings, the writing on the wall, the pictures, the space, the innovation, the courtyard, the conference room and the kitchen - were a dream.
Sara Blakely is not only the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world today, she is also known widely as the nicest, kindest and most giving. On top of that, she is beautiful, has an unbelievable family and is changing the world, not just our figures when we put on a pair of Spanx to shape the areas we don't want the world to see.

Why your marketing company's social media presence counts
As an avid technology enthusiast, I am always looking up new and exciting technologies that may be instrumental in our clients future marketing campaigns.
One such technology asked for Marketing Eye's competitors, and did an analysis on where they sit from a digital perspective compared to Marketing Eye Atlanta. It was fascinating. Our company is a mere 4 years old in the US, and in year one, we realized that we outperformed all our competitors on Google listings/rankings and all areas of social media. It was something we were very proud of, as we don't spend all day pushing this medium, but a bit over 30 minutes in total including writing this blog.

Let's lose using the term 'millennials' and start using 'humans'
I am the first to admit that at times I have wanted to tear my hair out over some of the behaviors of millennials. So much so, I have sworn over and over again to never hire another millennial only to find that my next recruit is in fact a millennial. Why? Because that person was the best person for the job at that point in time.

Did you make your last quarter sales figures - we didn't!
It's our first quarter conundrum that is making me scratch my head, and is starting to create some sleepless nights. In 5 years, we have never had a month where our sales figures didn't meet our projections.
I'm shocked, concerned, worried and trying to rack my mind as to why. I find myself looking for answers.

Why old-fashion direct marketing campaigns are not dead
If you thought old-fashion direct marketing campaigns are dead - you are wrong, and probably of the opinion that your idea of design and creativity is awesome.
I speak to hundreds of entrepreneurs each month and many have the same opinion. Direct marketing is dead. I beg to differ. In fact, I know that this statement is not only incorrect, it is only spoken by people who either have no idea, or don't have a creative bone in their body, although quite often their mind fools them into believing they do.

Am I an entrepreneur first, or am I a marketer?
I'm sitting at the Qantas Lounge at the Melbourne International Airport ready to board another flight to Los Angeles. I am a tad tired. 2.15am wakeup wasn't my best work, but sometimes excitement does get the best of me. Travelling for me, is exciting and part of the bigger adventure. I get to meet people that inspire me, shock me and sometimes join me on my journey as a friend, client or person "I just know".
Meeting people when you are an introvert is completely and utterly out of your comfort zone, and I know the value of being outside your comfort zone. It's one of the best things that can happen, especially if you are an entrepreneur.

Having the benefit of being part of a global entrepreneurial friendship group, made up mostly from people through my travels around world, I am always interested in different models in which employees are remunerated or attracted to an organization.
What works well for one company, may not for another. The big corporate beast can be a lure and it can also deter the best talent - depending on what is most important to any particular individual. If you want to know what keeps employees in the game, and on your team, it may in fact be something that you did not realize.

What turns the 'excellence' button on when building a high performance team
I won't lie... I need to have the best team possible. They each need to be high achieving, dynamic, skilled individuals who are actively trying to be the best. What they don't know, they seek to find out. What they are good at, they share. What they can improve in, they ask for mentoring and coaching. Basically, people who are in touch with their own capabilities and are self-starters.
